The brief.

What they needed.

Murray got in touch because his site was sitting inactive on IONOS and asked whether I could bring it back to life. Once I'd looked at it, resurrecting it wasn't the answer. Better to start again, and once we'd talked it through, a single page was all the business actually needed.

The work.

What I built.

One page, hand built. No Wix, no theme, no page builder. For a site this size a builder brings a lot of weight along for very little, and the whole point of the page is that it loads instantly on a phone at the roadside.

Everything on it is written for one job: someone with a damaged car who wants to know what it'll cost. That's how the Mackays actually work, so the form is the centre of the page rather than something at the bottom of it. Send up to five photos of the damage and get a price back. The pictures shrink on the phone before they're sent so nothing fails halfway on a poor signal, and they land in the workshop inbox already attached.

Being hand built means there's nothing on the page that isn't doing something.

The result.

What changed.

Angie got in touch to say a customer had contacted them within ten minutes of the page going live.

Luck, probably, on the timing. But luck only gets you the visit. The page had to be findable for that customer to land on it, and it had to be convincing enough that they used the form rather than closing the tab. They sent their photos, got a price, and drove down within the hour.

That's the whole argument for doing this properly, in one afternoon.

Power On.

My take.

A cry for help that turned into tears of joy. Proof that a single page can be exactly right for the right business, and it was all Murray and Angie needed. I was as surprised as they were about the ten minutes. Good timing, if I'm honest. But it showed the form and the photo upload were doing their job from the off.

In their words.

What they said.

“We have had the pleasure of dealing with Martin to update our website. Wow this guy is amazing, from the start, he knew exactly what we needed as a small family business based in Edinburgh. Within 10 mins of the new page going live, we had our first estimate. Can't thank him or recommend his invaluable expertise, or praise him more highly, Thank you Murray & angela”
